The Snowflake Ball

Last night was an elementary school's annual Snowflake Ball to benefit the PTO. This is my second year as the photographer for the event, and one I look forward to shooting! Last year, the Ball was held at another school so this year was a first for many parents and students. I'd say both old and new had a blast!

Sticking with the theme, I set up a back drop with lots of wintery sparkle and some snowflake balloons. After a little snafu with my light triggers, the doors opened and the families rolled in.

I loved seeing the kids with their parents. All of them were happy to have a photo with their parents. It's great to be able to capture that knowing that in a few more years most of them will be "too cool" to pose with mom and dad.

When the parent shots wound down and the party really got started, the groups of friends started rolling in. This might be my favorite part of the night. I think I saw every personality type in these little people and it was pretty entertaining. The boys came in like "bros" posing like tough guys and goofballs and the girls came in giggling and posing like little divas. They really couldn't get enough of getting their pictures taken.
